Amanda Stevens, former ITU Triathlon World Champion, spends the week. Amanda came into town June 22nd to train, acclimate, and stay at Coach Mike's house. She was in town for the Hy-Vee ITU Triathlon (draft legal, pro's only) race. She stayed through June 28th. Amanda is a pro triathlete, triathlon coach, orthapedic surgeon, and member of Team USA. Amanda campaigns on the ITU World Cup Circuit with the goal of making a future Olympic Team. Coach Mike met Amanda when he was assistant coach for Team USA at the Richard's Bay South Africa World Cup. While at Mike's house, Mike taught Amanda how to fly a radio controlled helicopter.
